Virtual Tracks
Tracks on the FD-4 that can be recorded onto but won't be heard in playback. The music contained on them would have to be exchanged with the music on one of the main tracks to be heard in playback. Therefore, it acts like a music store for alternative takes etc...

Line Level
High level signal produced at the outputs of synths, samplers, CD players, drum machines, cassette decks etc...
M
Mic Level
Low level signal produced by microphones and electric instruments eg. electric guitars.
E
Equalization
The process of adjusting volumes of individual sound waves with in an audio signal to effect the overall character of the sound.
Mix Down
The final adjustment of individual track levels within a song that is carried out before mastering.
P
Panning
Panning controls how much of the signal is sent to the left and right in a stereo setup.
